I've been told in a TechNet session that Microsoft has committed to run Vista on all XP certified systems. They went further and claimed a performance 'perception' gain of up to 50% due to underlying technology. We'll have to wait and see.

Of course, for the dazzling Aero Glass user interface you'll need an up to date graphics card. Following drivers are already available:
NVIDIA:
http://www.nvidia.com/object/winvista_75.03.html
ATI:
https://support.ati.com/ics/support/default.asp?deptID=894&task=knowledge&questionID=19933

General info on the Vista Logo requirements:

Nice article and I must admid, it all seems dazzling.
But what about the system requirements? Can Vista run on an average business desktop?

Here's link that highlights this aspect of Vista.

Distinctive autocompletion for files and directories could be usefull if you only want to cycle through dir names (eg for script input). For trivial commands as 'cd' this will occur automatically.
